A blank page

This Sunday at The TeNT we were asked to look at our personal life stories. Jez painted his own story out in a kind of hieroglyphics on a large board. We were invited to write our own stories out on small white boards. Jez showed how we all have a story to tell and that you can trace both the highs and the lows in our lives.

What really impressed on me, though, was how much power and intensity telling our story can have. Jez spoke with great courage and a healthy honesty. So much so that many people were visibly moved and the kids, who can run riot, sat attentively throughout. Jez concluded that no matter what has happened in the past, no matter what you have done or what has happened to you, God is capable of starting afresh with you. He painted the whole board white and reminded us that we worship a God who is capable of painting a new story onto us.

We were also reminded that this is just as true for us as a community – God is painting a new thing.

So:

  • What is your story?
  • Who will you tell your story to?
  • Are you open to the possibility that God might paint a new story within you?
  • Are you happy to be a blank canvass?
